A delightfully small solid fine silver mussel shell has a dainty sea-glass nugget wrapped in fine silver wire added to create this necklace that will bring you close to the salty waves, seaweed, sand and rock-pools every time you wear it. The textured surface has been oxidised to highlight the details of the shell and the piece has retained an uneven flat polished surface on the back - reflecting the organic nature of the piece. Maybe it also conjures up memories of time spent on the beach as a child, or with your own children. The shell was collected from Boulmer beach in Northumberland, the sea-glass from the beach at Seaham in Co. Durham.
